ok so world cup is up and kickin', the whole world is watchin. in fact, we'll be keepin the telly runnin' in the background for the next month here in our nyc office. (buzz buzz buzz go the horns, how annoying).
Anyway, can we address this FIFA World Cup South Africa identity for a second? Oy, so Lion King. I mean it already says South Africa and we all know it, but look at that typeface! At one point it goes on a blue plank of wood. Even the set of the pre-match commentators have all these plants and shit in the background. How about making it cool and awesome instead of defaulting to African tribalness? Shouldn't it be all about progression? Oh well. Whatever.

dc x journeys backyard bbq

while it's cold and rainy here east coast, andy had another one of those awesome weekends in sunny san fran last saturday at the dc/journeys backyard bbq! and again thanks to eric doyne, he was able to score some all access passes and got up close and personal in the halfpipe, street course, mini ramp and below the 80 ft ramp. mixed it up with the a-list dc team (including his new bff) dave mirra, alan cooke, daniel dhers and corey bohan...dc's a-list skaters rob dyrdek, skate phenom chaz ortiz, pj ladd and lindsey robertson. and let's not forget the metal mulisha representing for freestyle moto x hittin the 80 foot gap, derek garland, wes agee, and ryan hagy. that was a ton of big players in a bbq! ok enough name-dropping and check out all the pics on our flickr page.

sea otter classic

it's april, weather's gettin gorgeous outside and andy has just tweeted something about sea otters and bikes. san francisco sure is weird. but i finally got the low down on what he was up to over the weekend. turns out the sea otter classic is a bicycling and outdoor life sports festival and trade show held in Monterey, California (thanks, wikipedia!).

so andy and his pr homeboy eric doyne spent the day checking out the different road and mountain bikes races as well checking out the all the sweet gear on offer from the huge selection of bike manufacturers. they got to spend some solid time with the all the guys from GIANT, met the team riders and got to check out all their new bikes and see the sick graphics jobs they have been laying down. then some magic happened and andy had a lovely chat with bmx legend dave mirra about his new career as a rally car driver, part of the subaru team, along side motocross legend travis pastrana. they are now bff's, as you can see from the picture. there's some hot shit going down in the bike world, some of the bike graphics are hella killer, would be dope if we could get into this world! yeah, i'm talkin to you, mirra!
